Fun in the Christmas sun: Naomi Watts takes her two sons to the beach during their Sydney homecoming

Day at the beach: Naomi Watts and a friend all took their children for a day by the sea in Sydney yesterday


While most people are wrapping up warm and planning to spend their Christmas holiday indoors Naomi Watts is enjoying time with her family on the beach.

The actress took her two sons for a day playing in the sand today in Sydney, Australia where the family is spending their Christmas holiday.

The 42-year-old star kept covered up in a loose fitting striped T-shirt with a fedora hat and sunglasses as she joined a female friend and her baby for the seaside playdate.

Naomi spent time playing with both of her sons and made regular trips from their camp down tot he shoreline so the boys could dip their toes in the water.

The day before the British-born actress and her partner Liev Schreiber looked every bit the happy family as they strolled along Bronte Beach with the two boys.

Wearing skinny jeans, a white T-Shirt, a jacket and sunglasses, Naomi, kept a close watch over sons Alexander, 3, and Samuel, 2, during their family outing.

The Fair Game actress and her long-term partner seemed like they were having a wonderful time as they strolled along the beach before stopping to enjoy a picnic.

The trip Down Under is a homecoming of sorts for Naomi, who was born in England but grew up in Australia.

The Oscar-nominated actress moved to Sydney at age 14 and attended several schools, including North Sydney Girls' High, where her classmates included actress Nicole Kidman.

Naomi currently lives in New York's trendy West Village neighbourhood with her family and said in a recent interview she plans to stay in America, adding: 'I've lived in three different countries, but the most years have been in America.

'I don't plan to live anywhere else right now. My children are American, Liev's American, I have great fond memories of living in Australia and England and I feel equal parts Australian and English.'
