Bountiful backside! Nicki Minaj displays her outrageous assets at a concert yesterday in New York City

She's been the butt of rumours about buttock enhancements - but fake or not, Nicki Minaj showed off her ample backside in a skin tight catsuit last night.

The singer and rapper, 25, wore the eye-popping outfit as she performed at the Hammerstein Ballroom in her home town of New York with a host of friends including Rihanna and Kanye West.

Drake and Keyshia Cole also joined Minaj during the special Thanksgiving performance for radio station Hot 97.

For months, rumours have spread across the web, that Minaj underwent surgery or uses pads to boost her bum, especially on urban gossip sites such as Bossip and mediatakeout.com.

But the Massive Attack singer said: 'Absolutely not' in a recent interview with the New York Post.

She added: 'People will pick anything to talk about, and that happens to be the thing at the moment. I love being a conversation piece.

Fashionistas: Nicki Minaj performs with Rihanna, who is also known for her eye-popping outfits

The star, who provides background vocals on Trey Songz's new track called Bottoms Up, re-leased her debut album Pink Friday on Monday.

The disc features special guests including the aforementioned stars as well as Natasha Bedingfield, Will.I.Am and Eminem.

It’s expected to debut on the US Billboard charts at number two, selling an impressive 375k-425k units right behind Kanye West who will take the top spot.

Minaj is gaining quite a reputation for her outrageous rap style and unusual dress sense, which has been described as a cross between Lady Gaga and Rihanna.

Prior to her album's release, Pink Friday was leaked onto the internet twice, generating huge interest.

But the reaction from reviewers has been mixed.

Ann Powers in the LA Times said: 'Minaj doesn't always succeed on "Pink Friday", and I'm not even sure how thought out her split-personality approach is. But I for one admire her attempts to show range, vocally and emotionally, and to confront how confusing life for young women can be.'

Andy Gill of The Independent (UK) gave it three stars out of five, adding: 'There's nothing on Pink Friday with quite the incendiary impact of her cameo on Kanye West's "Monster", but there's enough to confirm the buzz about Nicki Minaj being the future of female hip-hop.'

Fellow rappers have also been giving their opinions.

Kanye West took to Twitter to praise the album - although he may be biased, as he appears on it.

''From what I've heard of @NickiMinaj 's album I know it's gone be crazy! I've got a couple verses on it too!!!' he said.
